A 52 year old man James Onuoha, on Thursday,
have been arraigned before an Ogba Chief
Magistrate court sitting in ikeja and remanded in the prison
custody for allegedly raping two minors aged 8 and 12 names withheld.
The defendant who lives at No 29, Akilo area of Ogba Lagos
is facing a three count charge bordering
on rape, defilement and sexual assault.
The prosecutor, Benedict Aigbokhan alleged that the offence was
committed sometimes in December 2015 at the defendant’s residence he also
told the court that the defendant defiled and raped the two girls respectively.Benedict said that one of the victims mother later got to know that her 12 year old daughter missed her monthly circle.
The prosecutor further added that the offence contravened and is punishable under section 137 and 259 of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2011.
After the charges were read to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, remanded Onuoha at Kirikiri Prison, and adjourned the case till June 1 for Directorate Public Prosecution (DPP) legal advice.
